Summer 2011 Schedule
Children's Classes

June 13-17:

Fresh Air Drawing and Painting (10am-12) 

Out we go to enjoy the Plein Air approach, inspired by the nature of the day, from birds and wildflowers to views of the river and the countryside beyond. 

June 20-24:

French for Beginners I (10am-11)

Bonjour! We will have fun learning the basics in class this week, creating a French notebook to keep.

Fashion Design (11am-12)

Fashionistas will gather here this week to create their own designs in pencil, watercolor, and then in fabric!

June 27-31:

A Week in France (10am-12)

We will explore Paris this week by learning French language and geography, creating a French monument and making fabulous French pastry. C'est magnifique! (Materials: $5)

July 11-15:

Cruising the Galapagos Islands (10am-12)

Our tour of the Galapagos will explore the geography of these unique islands of Ecuador as well as the amazing creatures that inhabit them. We will also create Ecuadorean food and an art project to take home. (Materials: $5)

July 25-29

JUST ADDED  Plein Air Painting, Session 2

This popular outdoor drawing and painting session has just been added to our July offerings. It meets again at 10am - Noon

German for Beginners (1pm-2)
Focus will be on useful phrases, grammar and perfect accents! Visiting us from Paris this summer, your Austrian-born teacher is a native speaker of German and is fluent in both French and English as well.

French for Beginners II (2pm-3)

For those of you who want to add to their French-speaking abilities, your teachers come to you fresh from Paris!

August 1-5:

Painting Like the Masters (10am-12)

We will observe and contemplate the art of master cubists, impressionists, pointilists and others, then create our own versions of these styles of art.

Astronomy (1pm-2)

Four daylight journeys through the solar system in the classroom, one evening under the stars, weather permitting. 

Creative Writing (2pm-3)

Character, action and setting sketches will be just three of the 5 pieces you will craft this week.

August 15-19:
Eco-Texture (10am-12)

We will create one-of-a-kind structures from recycled and natural materials...our "green" approach to art.

Note: NO MATERIALS FEE FOR THIS CLASS :)

August 22-26:
Fresh Air Drawing and Painting, Session 3 (10am-12)

Another fine week to enjoy and capture on paper the birds, flowers, trees and the view of the river and the countryside as it has unfolded in late summer.
